In short

Looper has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, exploits or endangers a child is removed, the accounts behind it are closed, and child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.

01

Our standard

Looper is an app for sharing memories with family and friends, for people aged 13 and older. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is prohibited everywhere on Looper: in memories, their photos, videos and titles, in comments and replies, on profiles, and in links and messages sent from the app.

These standards apply to every account, and to anyone under 18, whether or not they use Looper themselves.

02

What is not allowed

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any photo, video or other content that shows a minor in a sexual way or sexualises a minor, including drawn, edited or AI-generated content.
  • Grooming: befriending or contacting a minor in order to sexually abuse or exploit them, online or offline.
  • Sextortion: threatening or pressuring a minor to share sexual images, money or anything else.
  • Asking a minor for sexual content, or sending sexual content to a minor.
  • Sexual comments about minors, or content that promotes, praises or normalises the sexual abuse of children.
  • Content that promotes or facilitates the trafficking or sexual exploitation of children.
  • Sharing, asking for or pointing to any of the above elsewhere, including links.
03

How Looper keeps people safe

  • There is no public feed of strangers’ memories: a memory is shared with the author’s followers and the people they choose to send it to.
  • Following someone is a request that the other person has to accept.
  • Every person’s circle is limited to 300 people.
  • Anyone can block, mute or remove a follower at any time.
  • Anyone can report a memory or a comment from its "…" menu.
04

How to report

In the app

Open the memory or the comment, tap "…", then Report. You can also block the account straight away.

By email

Write to contact@looperonline.com with "Child safety" in the subject. Tell us the username, the link to the memory or profile if you have it, and what you saw. Do not send us the images or videos themselves: sharing child sexual abuse material can be a crime, even to report it.

If a child is in danger

If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or the police first. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly: in the United States to the NCMEC CyberTipline at https://report.cybertip.org, and in most other countries to a national hotline listed by INHOPE at https://www.inhope.org.

05

What we do

  • We review every child safety report as a priority.
  • We remove content that breaks these standards.
  • We suspend or close the accounts involved, and keep them from returning.
  • We preserve the evidence and report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant law enforcement authorities, as the law requires.
  • We cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement.
06

Compliance with the law

Looper complies with the child safety laws that apply in the countries where it is available, including the obligation to report child sexual abuse material to the authorities. Nothing in these standards limits that obligation.
